Legal intern needed for small firm in Greater Lowell area - Chelmsford

Small law firm in Chelmsford (two attorneys) seeks an intern for the summer. The position will involve some legal research and writing, some drafting of specific types of documents, and occasional odd jobs (running to local courthouses or the post office on occasion, accompanying us to hearings, etc. if you're available and interested). Our areas of practice include family, criminal, and unemployment law, with some landlord-tenant and bankruptcy work as well.

The position is unpaid. That said, if our business keeps improving we will at some point be able to actually hire someone. No matter what, you will not find this job a bad way to spend your summer. You will learn about the practice of law, and get a reference out of it at the very least. We are both pleasant people.

Law students are preferred, but we are not exclusively looking for a law student. We are mostly looking for a bright, hard-working person who would like to spend her or his summer working in an evolving small practice, and getting some practical experience.
